The aim of MORAY FIELD CLUB is to stimulate an interest in and further the study of antiquities, local history, geology and landscape of Northern Scotland.
Membership of the MORAY FIELD CLUB is open to all who support these aims. The annual subscription will be set at the ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING.
The MORAY FIELD CLUB will be administered by a committee consisting of the Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Bulletin Editor plus three members of the Club. They will be elected by a simple majority vote of the membership at the Annual General Meeting. Normally committee members will serve for a period of three years, but this restriction will not apply to the Secretary, Treasurer, or Bulletin Editor or to a committee member who is elected to another post on the committee. Otherwise, retiring committee members will be eligible for re-election after one year. The committee will have the power to co-opt two other members for special purposes. The quorum, at a committee meeting, will be five members.
The committee will organise a minimum of six excursions per annum during the period April to October; to give a balanced programme covering a wide range of interests. They will also arrange a minimum of two indoor meetings during the winter period.
An Annual General Meeting of the Club will be held in the autumn for the presentation of reports, a balance sheet and the election of a new Committee. All members of the Club will have the right to vote on any motion at the Annual General Meeting. A quorum at the Annual General Meeting will be twenty members.
Urgent administrative matters and modifications of the terms of reference may be considered at an Extraordinary General Meeting called by the Secretary on request from either the Committee or from any ten members. The quorum, at an Extraordinary General Meeting, will be twenty members.
